Senior Travel Designer Arctic and Antarctica (remote, 20 to 40 hours, m/f/d)

For ArcticDesire.com, our travel agency for polar expeditions, we are looking for people who know the Arctic and Antarctica and can inspire others: for polar bears on Svalbard, penguin colonies in Antarctica and the silence of the ice.

Ideally, you have been on expeditions yourself and know landing sites, seasons, ships and routes.

Your tasks

  • You advise discerning guests personally and thoroughly, because every expedition is different.
  • You prepare quotes, plan routes, calculate prices and guide your guests through the whole booking.
  • You contribute your own ideas on how we develop our Arctic and Antarctic voyages.
  • You maintain contacts with cruise lines, expedition teams and specialists worldwide.
  • You look after your guests before, during and after their journey.
  • You travel to the polar regions yourself to know ships and routes first-hand.

What you bring

  • Professional experience in upscale travel, ideally with expedition cruises
  • Experience advising on and planning cruises or expeditions
  • Sound knowledge of the polar regions, expedition routes and wildlife watching
  • Business-fluent German and English; other languages are a plus
  • An independent, structured and precise way of working
  • You enjoy inspiring people and working in a team

What we offer

  • A salary that reflects your performance
  • Remote anywhere in Germany, plus up to one month a year from another EU country (company based in Hamburg)
  • A fixed travel budget to experience ships and routes yourself
  • Flexible working hours with core times so our guests can reach us
  • A high-quality portfolio and colleagues from all over the world
  • Involvement in further projects such as luxury cruises and tailor-made travel planning
  • Short decision paths, little bureaucracy and responsibility from day one
